This popular, British beach destination was not what we expected- it was better!
From the beautiful warm pebbles on the shorefront to the narrow lane ways dotted with independent clothing stores and tiny cafes, Brighton had plenty to offer!
On the day we journeyed out to this seaside town, the atmosphere was buzzing! With beautiful blue skies above, we were not surprised. There were people scattered all over the beach taking in the Spring sunshine. Talented buskers provided the perfect background music and the laughter of children lifted our spirits.
We sampled fresh sea snails gathered locally and sold right on the beach. We enjoyed them simply, with a squeeze of lemon juice and agreed that Kristian's seafood loving Nanna, Carmel, would have enjoyed them too.
Lunch was locally caught, grilled Rainbow Trout with hand cut chips and the freshest salad at 'The Regency'. I thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful of delicate, fresh fish. The best kind of dish to devour by the seaside.
We strolled down lane ways, admiring the many unique items on display, mouths drooling and eyes wide as we passed the cutest little cake shops, showcasing their dainty desserts in shop windows.
We lost our way several times whilst walking the tiny, narrow streets and enjoyed every moment of it. There's no better way to travel than getting lost in a place you've never been!
We will certainly be returning to Brighton as the weather improves. Such a wonderful place to explore!
